In 2004 the Pacific Giant Vegetable Growers were looking for a location to do an end-of-season paddle with a handful of giant pumpkins. Today the West Coast Giant Pumpkin Regatta, held at the Lake at Tualatin Commons, has grown into an event with a national reputation that draws thousands of people each year.
WEST COAST GIANT PUMPKIN REGATTA
The West Coast Giant Pumpkin Regatta is one of the most unique fall Festivals in Oregon. Since 2004 people from around the country gather to witness costumed characters paddling inside giant pumpkins in a series of races. This fun filled weekend includes Pumpkins and Pints, a giant pumpkin weigh-off, Regatta Run, and Regatta festival and pumpkin races. The giant pumpkins are supplied by our friends from the Pacific Giant Vegetable Growers.
If you have never seen the Pumpkin Regatta then you probably have never seen costumed characters paddling 1,000 pound pumpkins around the Lake of the Commons in a series of wacky races.
What is there to do at the West Coast Giant Pumpkin Regatta?
Pumpkin golf, pumpkin bowling, pumpkin checkers, pumpkin tic-tac-toe, pumpkin crafts, strolling entertainment, food, vendors, and much more!

Costumes are welcome
Entrance and all activities are free. Merchandise and food are available for purchase
Only service animals are allowed at the Pumpkin Regatta. Please leave pets at home.
Make sure you walk all around the lake! There are exciting things happening throughout the venue
Try to carpool, walk, or bike to the Regatta if possible
Be ready for any kind of weather
