It’s rare that whiskey-making takes a backseat to much of anything in Lynchburg, Tennessee. THE JACK is one exception. One weekend in October, barbecue competitors from across the country and world converge here to wield their grilling and smoking expertise in the final competition of the year.
Smell the sweet smoke and savor the flavors for yourself and JOIN US THIS OCTOBER as we cook up a spectacular weekend of events.
WHAT IS THE JACK?
Every year, more than 40,000 visitors descend on Lynchburg for one of the most prestigious competitions in all of BBQ.
Although the barbecue competition itself is in Wiseman Park, the entire town is filled with booths and displays. So in between sampling some of the best barbecue around, you can check out buck dancing, try your hand at butt bowling, or cheer on the pets in the Country Dog Show. Admission is free and open to all ages. We hope to see you there!
For one weekend every year, the smallest town in whiskey becomes the biggest scene in barbecue. 2023 promises to be no different with great music, fun events, 8 individual category competitions and over 80 teams vying for the title of Grand Champion.
Parking is available for $10.00 at Moore County High School on Saturday, October 15th with shuttle buses available from 9:00am to 7:00pm.
